Celebrate a fascinating piece of British aviation history with the Corgi Bristol F2B Fighter 'Charlie Chaplin' 1:48 scale die-cast model, recreating an iconic First World War aircraft flown by Australian flying ace Captain Sydney Dalrymple.
Designed and manufactured by the Bristol Aeroplane Company, the Bristol F2B Fighter was one of Britain's most successful combat aircraft of the First World War. Affectionately known as the 'Brisfit', this versatile two-seat biplane combined speed, manoeuvrability and firepower, proving highly effective in both reconnaissance and aerial combat missions.
This beautifully detailed model recreates Bristol F2B Fighter D8084/S, flown by Captain Sydney Dalrymple and Second Lieutenant G. Beagle of No. 139 Squadron, based at Villaverla Aerodrome in Italy during August 1918.
On 8 August 1918, Dalrymple and Beagle achieved a remarkable victory, shooting down two enemy Aviatik D.I fighters during a single mission. Dalrymple went on to become a recognised flying ace and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross later that year.
What makes this particular aircraft especially distinctive is the unusual Charlie Chaplin artwork displayed on its engine cowling, giving this historic fighter a unique character that sets it apart from other aircraft of the period.
Part of Corgi's prestigious Aviation Archive collection, this highly detailed 1:48 scale die-cast replica captures the distinctive features of the original Bristol Fighter, making it a fantastic addition to any aviation collection. Whether you're passionate about military aviation, fascinated by First World War history or searching for a special gift, this collectible model celebrates Bristol's remarkable aerospace heritage.
