Celebrate a remarkable chapter of British aviation history with the Corgi Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA 1:72 scale die-cast model, recreating one of Bristol's most significant wartime aircraft in its distinctive desert camouflage.

Designed and manufactured by the Bristol Aeroplane Company, the Bristol Beaufort was a powerful twin-engined torpedo bomber and reconnaissance aircraft that played a vital role during the Second World War. Renowned for its maritime strike capabilities, the Beaufort operated in some of the war's most challenging environments, targeting enemy shipping and helping disrupt vital supply routes.

This beautifully detailed model recreates Bristol Beaufort Mk.IA EK979 '35', operated by the RAF Middle East Check and Conversion Unit in Egypt during 1944. Featuring its distinctive desert camouflage, the aircraft represents an important chapter in the Beaufort's wartime service across North Africa and the Mediterranean.

Beaufort aircraft first arrived in Egypt in 1941, replacing older aircraft such as the Bristol Blenheim and Martin Maryland. Operating in challenging desert conditions, Beaufort crews undertook dangerous missions against Axis shipping, helping to disrupt supplies destined for German and Italian forces in North Africa. Their contribution to the Mediterranean campaign played an important role in the eventual Allied victory.

Part of Corgi's prestigious Aviation Archive collection, this highly detailed 1:72 scale die-cast replica captures the distinctive features of the original aircraft. With its authentic markings, rotating propellers and finely recreated details, it's a fantastic addition to any aviation collection and a thoughtful gift for military history enthusiasts.
