Recreate one of the most extraordinary aircraft ever built with the COBI Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird 1:48 scale building block model kit, celebrating a legendary aircraft that pushed the boundaries of speed, altitude and aviation engineering.
Developed by Lockheed's famous Skunk Works division, the SR-71 Blackbird was a pioneering American reconnaissance aircraft that entered service with the United States Air Force during the 1960s. Capable of flying at speeds exceeding Mach 3, more than three times the speed of sound, and operating at altitudes of up to 26 kilometres, the Blackbird became one of the fastest and most remarkable aircraft in aviation history.
Designed to gather vital intelligence during the Cold War, the SR-71 combined cutting-edge aerodynamics with an innovative titanium structure capable of withstanding the extreme temperatures generated during high-speed flight. Its extraordinary performance allowed it to outrun potential threats, earning a legendary reputation among pilots and aviation enthusiasts worldwide.
This impressive COBI 1:48 scale building block kit brings the iconic Blackbird to life using 1,374 high-quality pieces. Carefully designed to capture the aircraft's distinctive streamlined shape, the completed model features detachable landing gear, movable wing ailerons and an opening cockpit with space for the included USAF pilot figure.
Authentic printed US Air Force markings add to the model's realistic appearance, while the included display stand, complete with a nameplate and Lockheed Martin logo, makes it a striking centrepiece for any aviation collection.
With clear, step-by-step illustrated instructions, this rewarding building experience is ideal for aviation enthusiasts, military history fans and building block collectors looking to recreate one of the greatest engineering achievements in aerospace history.
