The Bristol Fighter, nicknamed the "Biff" and later "Brisfit", was Britain's first real multi-role combat aircraft and the British & Colonial Aeroplane Company's great success in WW1 (the company became the Bristol Aeroplane Company post-WW1). In total over 5000 of these two-seater biplanes were built and they continued to be used for many years after the war, showing its success as a design.
